LEARN MORE, DO MORE
a blog about elementary school teaching and learning

This is a "just about everything that related to elementary education" blog (and other resources, too!). My passions include: ed-tech tools, math, writing, NGSS, social-emotional learning, students with special needs, access and equity for all students, collaborative learning for teachers, and a ton more. I encourage teachers to make decisions that put students first.

About Me
For the past five years, I have been an instructional coach for an elementary school in Chino, which is in southern California. Before that I taught a variety of grades, including Kinder, first, fourth, fifth, and sixth. I feel that I have learned more about teaching and learning since becoming a coach, and I hope to inspire other teachers to take a risk to improve student learning. #growthmindsetforall
I am a wife and a mother to three young children. I am also a colleague, a friend, a listening ear, and (I hope I can be) a voice of reason. I love engaging in dialogue with others to deepen my understand of a subject. (Translation: I will often play devil's advocate.)

What an adventure this is turning out to be! From writing a bio to learning about TweetDeck, and Microsoft OneNote Notebooks and Teams in between, this process has been an amazing road trip of new learnings.

Reading Books I've Promised Myself I'd Read
You know, I'm a big fan of reading, but there are a stack of about 8 books I've bought with the intention of reading but haven't made time for yet. They include:
-
The Classroom Chef (John Stevens and Matt Vaudrey)
-
Principles to Actions (NCTM)
-
Routines for Reasoning (Grace Kelemanik, Amy Lucenta, Susan Janssen Creighton)
-
Mathematical Mindsets (Jo Boaler)
(I did warn you that I'm passionate about Math, right?)

Ed-Tech: New to Me
I've heard of Wakelet before, and I've heard of FlipHunts before, but this summer I'm hoping to understand those so well that I'd be a resource to others who want to learn more about them. I'm already building Wakelets, and I've finally figured out how to make a Super Wakelet, but if you've got a FlipHunt I can participate in, I would owe you big time!
UPDATE! I've now tried:
-
ZeeMaps
-
FlipGridAR
-
Collaborative Google Maps
